13 Common College Interview Questions

It’s not uncommon for students to feel nervous or anxious about college interviews.  To calm your fears, in this post I’ll provide you with 13 common college interview questions.

I recommend that you read over these questions carefully and develop answers so that you’ll be more prepared for your interview.  Like with anything, the more prepared you feel, the better you’ll be able to perform on interview day.

1.  Why do you want to go to school here vs. any other college or university?

2.  What are your strengths and weaknesses?

3.  What have you been doing to prepare for college?

4.  Describe your greatest high school experience.

5.  What are your future plans?

6.  Tell me a little bit about yourself?

7.  What types of things are you interested in?

8.  What extracurricular activities were you involved in during high school?

9.  What’s your family like?

10.  What do you think about (insert current event here)?

11.  What’s your all-time favorite novel? Who’s your favorite author?

12.  Tell me about an accomplishment that you are most proud of?

13.  If you could be introduced to one important figure (past or present), who would it be, why, and what would you talk about?
