There are many ways students can help protect themselves from campus crimes:

  • Know where all the emergency call boxes are located and learn how they are used to demand help if there is an emergency situation.
  • Avoid traveling alone
  • Always be prepared; carry your ID with you at all times, your cell phone, as well as pepper spray.

When attending a party, which you know there are always parties going on in college, follow these guidelines as well to help protect yourself:

  • Don’t accept any drinks from people you don’t know
  • Don’t leave drinks unattended
  • Don’t travel to and from any party alone
  • Let your friends/roommates know where you are going

By taking the correct precautions and preparations, college security will be maintained and your time at college will be fun, safe, and a time you will always remember.
